Step 1: Call emergency services

Not responding and not breathing normally? This is cardiac arrest.

Not a substitute for emergency services and gives no medical advice. In an emergency, call your country's emergency number now.

Step 2: Nearest AED to you

Search and distances are computed on your device: no server is ever queried.

Only the map background comes from the network. AEDs, distances and search stay on your phone.

GPS can be off by metres and distances are straight-line: the "nearest" is an estimate, not the real route.

Step 3: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Place your hands in the center of the chest. Push hard and fast at 110 beats per minute (30 compressions : 2 rescue breaths).

Follow the 110 BPM visual and audio metronome

Where to place your hands

Adults
Both hands stacked, center of the chest
Children 1–8
One hand, center of the chest
Infants
Two fingers, just below the nipple line

Step 4: When AED Arrives

  1. 1. Turn on the AED and follow voice prompts.
  2. 2. Attach pads to the bare chest as shown on the pads.
  3. 3. Ensure nobody touches the patient during heart rhythm analysis.
  4. 4. If instructed by the AED, press the shock button.
